The UK Doctoral Training Centre in
Energy Demand Reduction and
the Built Environment

Loughborough University
Vision

Students

The Centre is aiming to create a unique vibrant, student-centered environment, at University College London and Loughborough University. Students will join large and active research groups at each site, supporting a wide range of research projects. The first year of the four-year programme consists of an intensive MRes, intended to enable students to develop an understanding of the complexity of the subject matter and the roles of different academic disciplines and stakeholders, through a series of research projects of increasing length and depth, and to embark on their PhD programme with confidence.

The Centre has limited places and so will only recruit the brightest and best applicants. We see our students as ambassadors for the energy demand reduction field. Therefore, we are looking to recruit students who can communicate effectively and enthuse others.

Loughborough University and UCL also have other opportunities for PhD research within the energy area. For opportunities and further information please see the UCL Energy Institute website: http://www.ucl.ac.uk/energy/teaching and the Research Opportunities pages at Loughborough University: http://www.lboro.ac.uk/prospectus/pg/research/.
